The first wedding was of Rachel and Darren. I've known both of them for about 10 years now, from back in the day of working in a Kidlington pub; I've shared some rather amusing nights out with Rachel, so when I found out they had 'got together', I was over the moon for them. Then, four years on, to be asked to photograph their wedding was just lovely.
Their wedding was held at The Bay Tree Hotel, in Burford. It's a great venue as it's all under one roof, shut off from the public when they have weddings, and the grounds are beautiful, what ever the season.
I went out with Darren and Rachel a few weeks before, to shoot some photographs for their table numbers; so got the jist of their rugby theme then. But they really went to town with it; 'tickets' as their invites, positions for their table numbers, and mini rugby balls for the favours. It was a perfect choice, given the Irish/English mix and that Darren proposed at a rugby match.
The day was perfect; not an ounce of nerves in sight, just a very excited Bride and Groom who couldn't wait to get married. They are undeniably cute together too; with their cuddles and kisses, they made things easy for me as I didn't have to direct them, they just did what they needed to do!
The party in the evening was brilliant too; with the perfect choice of an irish performer, he got the guests jigging the night away.
