Natalie and Richard, Witney Lakes Resort, Oxfordshire

A few years ago I photographed Natalie's best friends wedding (Nicky), so when Natalie called to ask if I would photograph her's and Rich's wedding I was so excited and couldn't wait to meet with them to start planning.

They got married at Witney Lakes Resort, Witney. It's a gorgeous venue and I love working with the team there.  It's the first wedding I've photographed outside at this venue, and it was stunning!  Overlooking the beautiful lake and golf course, the sun shining, a very nervous Rich waiting for an absolutely beautiful Nat, who looked sensational in her lace dress. It was perfect!

After the ceremony I went with Nat and Rich onto the golf course for a few photographs, followed by family shots. Then the party began!

Family photography in Oxford

I love lifestyle shoots for families, it's so much more natural and relaxed than studio photography. So when Robin contacted me to photograph her family for her Dad's Birthday present and wanted photographs that were calm and vintage looking I knew that it was going to be a wonderful photo shoot.

We went up to the folly in Faringdon, which was the ideal setting for them as the poppies were lacing the surrounding corn fields, the sun was shining, with a slight breeze and it was nice and quiet up there.

An engagement shoot for a gorgeous couple

I was recently contacted by a couple living in America, who were coming to Oxford for the summer to study and work. They'd recently become engaged and wanted to celebrate this in Oxford with an engagement photo shoot… It's sometimes difficult trying to organise a shoot (or wedding) with people living overseas, they maybe don't know their schedule, or their ideas of what might be possible in Oxford aren't actually a reality, but on this occasion our ideas were in sync and Shannon and I were able to send e-mails back and forth to get a brief together (which was essentially a traditional Oxford look; academic, old and stylish) and an idea of where would be best for their photo shoot.

They are an absolutely gorgeous couple, so easy to photograph too. It was a pleasure to work with them and I just wish I lived in America so I could photograph their wedding too!

A few recent pre-wedding shoots

It's been a busy few months at OPHQ! Wedding season has well and truly started, in fact, I'm 20 weddings in, which is now half way through my season. There hasn't been much time for R&R (although I did sneak in a week in Lanzarote with the family).

This month alone I have photographed 6 weddings, 8 portrait sessions, 3 corporate events, had 3 full days teaching and had around 6 meetings with new couples… that's not to mention all the editing.

Here is just a small selection of some of the pre-wedding shoots I've photographed at some incredible venues including Blenheim Palace, Oxford city centre, Farringdon Folly, Hertfordshire Hotel and South Bank London.
